First off all, we want to express our heartfelt gratitude\nto our God and heavenly Father, and to all who have contributed to helping our\nmembers in Dekar. The nice amount of R32,000 , made it possible to make-up 100\nfood parcels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Need<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

As you know, Botswana was also weighed down under level 5\nlockdown, and many of our members were not going to work, and although a few still received a reduced salary, most people in any case are casually\nemployed with no fixed income.(what we call here piece jobs) Game Farms were also\nnot allowed to hunt, and the borders are still closed today for tourist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This has resulted in no visitors to road stalls and work\nin lodges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The situation is now a bit better but, just like in South Africa Level 3 still applies in\nBotswana.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Purchase of food<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ghanzi is the closest town to D\u2019kar (45km) and we have\npurchased the products at the<\/p>\n\n\n\n

 lowest price.The\nwholesaler then offered to deliver it free of charge to D\u2019kar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Storage and distribution<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The storeroom at the church was cleaned, and a new lock was put in the door. The Church council compiled a proper list of\nmembers only, of the congregation who qualify to receive assistance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With the members list in hand and my jute, the food packs\nwere neatly divided and delivered to the 100 houses personally. Elders assisted\nto deliver parcels to their own ward members <\/p>\n\n\n\n
