Our sincere appreciation
One can not believe that this year is almost at an end. Christmas time and the new year are upon us, but so different from what we were used to. So many things couldn’t be done this year due to Covid restrictions. Apart from the fact that everything points to the end times, there was a purpose to the way life turned out this year. One of the most important things we have learned was the ephemerality and unpredictability of life. A year ago no one would have guessed that we would have to greet two of our church council members this year. Our congregation was touched and humbled by their passing.
Without the support and contributions of all the different church congregations, our work would have been in vain. Your prayers and continued support have carried us through this year.
We as a congregation are still thankful for the groceries we bought for the people in need thanks to your contributions - as one remarked during the covid pandemic, the Lord has not forgotten us. You held our arms high like Moses of old.
Audio Bibles were delivered thanks to your contributions. We have built bonds with many people through these audio bibles. The pandemic drew people closer to God and caused an unprecedented interest in the Word of the Lord. When a person received a Bible with the instruction to listen to a certain passage such as the Gospel of John, they will soon recite the whole passage because they can listen to their Bibles as often as they wish to. One of the children surprised us by reciting an entire chapter. This would not have been possible without your support.
We also have enough Sunday school material for our children because of your generous contributions. We can glorify the Name of our Lord Jesus. With the proclamation of the Gospel we bombard the lines of the devil, and where his Word is preached it never returns unfulfilled.
Our prayer is that through this pandemic, the Lord will turn over the hard soil of our hearts for the seed of His Word to grow. To you who carried us in this difficult time, the words of the apostle Paul are so appropriate. In 2 Corinthians 9 from verse 13, he says to the congregations that have contributed so sincerely: “13And because of the proof which this service of yours brings, many will give glory to God for your loyalty to the gospel of Christ, which you profess, and for your generosity in sharing with them and everyone else. 14And so with deep affection they will pray for you because of the extraordinary grace God has shown you. 15Let us thank God for his priceless gift!”
My family and I are so thankful for the Lord’s grace, goodness and favor.
